Frosty37's Journal, 13 July 2015

Okay, the next time I'll see the scale is 7 days from now...gonna start weekly weigh ins instead of daily...I'm hugely disappointed today because of the #$%* scale. I even feel fatter. I kept within all of my parameters but gained anyway. I swear, this is all I type about anymore-complaining about my gains. I have no clue why I keep gaining, so I'm baffled. I'm gonna try another week though. :/

What type of eating plan are you following Holly? I'm so terrible at only weighing once a week! It's usually a disappointment too!! Hate that. Let's both try and weigh in only once a week?! I'll check you, if you check me. Lol!

i'm doing atkins induction, but apparently not very well. I'm not cheating, like eating crap, but something is wrong. :( That sounds like a plan!

Cool. Let's do it. So, I weighed in today. Lucky for me, I'll be away from my scale (although there is a scale at my Mum's - eep), so my next weigh in will be on my return home. So next weigh in, next week Wednesday! You?!

PS: Chat to people on here about 'banting' (Atkins-ich, but seems a bit 'better' and with great results). Also, look at intermittent fasting. Google 5:2 diet. Perhaps you need to change your eating plan to something that will work for you? So hard, I know!!!

I'm gonna try for Monday-its gonna be tempting to do it before that though. At least you'll be doing something- I stay home with the kiddos...did you have good results for your weigh in today? I think I saw you had a loss?

banting? I will check it out!

I did have a loss. I started on intermittent fasting a week ago and have been researching and looking into it for about 2 years now! I'm also at home with my baby. :) I'm going to check up on you! Lol!

There are soooooo many things that can make your weight go stupid! If you are following the plan but see an occasional hike on the scale day-to-day, don't get discouraged. It happens to everyone. Have you tried weight averaging for each week? Sometimes a plan is just not right for your particular body (I do much better on Adkins than on Weight Watchers). Which ever plan you choose to try, just be sure to give it a fair trial, say 1 month minimum, before moving on. For you younger ladies, your TOM can give you daily fluctuations as well. Just remember that you have a whole community rooting for you.

Yes,the community here has kept me in line here! I did atkins years ago with amazing results...never really tracked, just kept track of carbs with a notebook...now this time it is super hard to do...maybe because its too complicated with percentages and counting? no clue. I just checked out a fat fast with macadamia nuts or cream cheese...since dairy is no good for me, i'm gonna get some nuts today at the store and start a 3 day fast tmrw. hopefully that will work for me!

Congrats on your huge weight loss Holly. I too am a long time low carber and I found despite being good the scale would just stick. It's almost like the body has become resistant to weight loss. Very frustrating! I knew that it had to be more than the fact that I was perimenopausal so I looked back on my old logs and then it dawned on me difference was that I had stopped having my fasting days. Now I am getting back to those I see the scale moving again and tummy getting lovely and flat, clothes loser etc. Sometimes we just need to be one step ahead of our "clever" bodies and "shake things" up a bit. I wish you well!

Yep they get too clever for their own good. :) If you can stomach eggs in any manner imaginable, check out the 3 day egg fast . Works very well and easy to do, especially if you are already fat adapted. ibreatheimhungry dot com

Sweetie - you really need to stop weighing so often - use a tape measure and your clothes to see progress. GOOGLE an article titled, "Why the Scale Lies" and learn.

*hugs* I know the frustration all to well.

Okay, so I went and bought ketostix. They show very light lavender so I'm in ketosis. I'm doing an egg fast (thank you for the suggestion!) And I'm not weighing again until Monday. I have the old, second version of Atkins book and after the fast, I'm gonna do it simply like I did the first time. One big salad with dinner and meat/eggs the rest of the day. Seriously, thank you all for your support and suggestions. I say it all the time- I wouldn't be this far without all of you!

Good luck. Not sure if you want to check it out but here was my experience of the 3 day egg fast http://femmefit.info/diet/123-my-three-day-egg-fast.html
