I'm trying to be conscientious right now. I am slightly hungry, but I don't need to eat lunch right now. I need to remember I really don't have much to do, which is the only reason I am thinking about lunch right now anyway. I want to make sure I don't go too far over my calories today. I know this whole weekend is going to be really hard.

Way to be mindful of why you want to eat. Holidays are always a challenge, but you can plan for what to do when you are around temptations. I hope you do well.

Thanks! It seems like such an unattainable goal right now, but I do realize how ridiculous that thought is... it's just one good decision at a time, and patience.

Plan ahead to do well and take care of yourself by preparing food you can eat when visiting others or having a picnic or barbeque! Good Luck!

I don't know what diet philosophy you are following (low carb, low fat, low cal, etc), but you can usually find something you can eat as a snack that will fit in the plan. I'm not recommending mindless eating, but it nice to have something you can grab and munch. For me it is frozen strawberries or peanuts in the shell. The peanuts keep my hands busy and are my salt fix. Strawberries are good and are my sweet fix. You are right about one decision at a time. It won't be long till this is natural for you. You can do it.
