I am doing well on Atkins. Many people have been overly critical of me recently - people generally who I work with or am friends with. One friend was sort of hanging around, not taking my calls but called me a few times and has obviously been gossiping about me, so I told him to not bother me anymore and last night at work a female friend would not let up with her screaming. I will work in a section away from her and stay away from her from now on. These people have anger issues like a severe alcoholic who is in heavy usage mode. Another friend would not let up when talking to me this evening and was yelling. I certainly have had enough, and don't plan to talk to him daily anymore but maybe twice a week. All of these people have severe financial problems and are taking it out on me it seems, they can take it out on someone else. On a high note I thought many of my neighbors didn't like me, but ten people ran for positions on the Tenants Association. Only one race was a contest - all else were running unopposed as I was - but out of the ten I received the most votes of anyone, which was a humbling experience - and made me realize I am liked by more people than I thought... Anyway, I will be so glad to move away from here!

I looked up Clark Air Base, Philippines for the first time today for some reason. I saw a picture of Mt. Arayat to the east of the base where the sun rises, it brought back memories. An unbelievable picture of the volcano exploding near the base is on there too, for all intents and purposes it destroyed the base. Everything now is broken-down and abandoned. I did write a short story in my fourth book that sort of tells a partial story of the what it was like to live there and the goings-on. Time marches on... anyway, still staying true to the diet!

Hi Glenn, you are doing the best thing in not letting the way people act effect how you feel. Whats not to like about you and what others think doesn't matter on bit just as long as you are happy with you! Mt. Arayat destroyed the AFB? No, Lisa - I think it was 1989, but that was the mountain everyone on base was afraid of when there were earthquakes. One wise Filipina nurse told me in 1982 or so that she believed as many others did - and I did not know this until I was there of course, that a volcano in the mountain range northwest of where the hospital was actually was the real danger. It turned out she was right, it was Mt. Pinatubo. A few years later Clark Air Base was completely shut down by the government of the Philippines. Yes, no one can affect us Lisa unless we let them. There is so much turmoil around me and with others I know, but for some reason now with all my coworkers being stressed out, etc. I am not going to continue arguments, etc. Thanks for checking in Lisa...

Mt.Pinatubo blew up in 1989 - to clarify things - and two years later it says on the Internet Clark Air Base was shut down, in 1991. One can google it and see photos of the volcano explosion that are quite unreal... just thought I'd make things more clear for you Lisa, and the others reading this. Anyway, I really have "Atkins breath" today...

Sorry for the misinformation - I thought it was 1989 for years now the eruption was June 1991 and then the base was shut later that year...
