I joined a 'Walk Your Way To Health' challenge that starts off at 2 miles per day for the 1st 6 weeks. Since the only exercise I get is getting out of bed in the morning, I am starting at 1 mile for now and adding more on every couple of days. I wiped down the treadmill and am having the husband put it in the living room. Can't really avoid it when it's in my face, can I?! We have an open floor plan, so maybe seeing the treadmill when I eat will also help me to stay mindful of what I put in my mouth.

I hope you have a good time. I think walking becomes addictive after a while.

Who am I kidding? I joined a 'Challenge', so that is what I did. I DID walk 2 miles - not fast, but I did it.

There ya go! That's the point of a challenge to try to do something new and keep it up. I wasn't feeling my 10 miles today but I didn't want to set a bad example so I pushed on. Go you! And you'll get faster with time, then add more miles and before you know it walking will be a need not a chore.

Great job! No one said you had to be fast. With time that will come. After a series of injuries I had a difficult time walking, too. Today I did the 2 miles with just a bit of running to hurry a child and dog along. It wasn't graceful and my lungs burned, but I couldn't have done it a month ago. Get up, do a little dance and say, "Woo-hoo, I did it." :)
