ShyGuy's Journal, 06 May 2015

I'm finally getting there. After lunch I'll be at the point where I can go totally low carb. It took a while, but at least I'll be there.

Last night, for the first time in three years, I posted to my journal on the Atkins website; it was revealing, looking at some of my previous posts. What I'll probably do tomorrow, as I won't have the time to do it today, is go back and take another look, at a bunch of those posts, as well as some of my posts here on fatsecret from the same time period. I want to take a look at where my head was at, back then, because I was doing exceptionally well with my eating, and weight loss. That being said; I'll also take a look at what I was eating back then; and explore my cookbook, here, and saved recipes on the Atkins website. Over the years I've collected a bunch of recipes, from various websites, that are low carb; so it's time to get cooking again. Surprisingly, one of my favorite things to eat, for either lunch or dinner, is also one of the easiest things to make; a chef salad.

So, it's time to get those creative juices flowing again, and keep the low carb lifestyle interesting. Enjoy the rest of your week, everyone. :-)

Well, you got me to thinking about my old Atkins account and information. I looked it up this morning and discovered that I hadn't been on it for three years as well. I didn't do much with it as once I found FS, I was hooked. This site is so user friendly and the peeps are great. I have spent quite a bit of time looking through old recipes and finding new ways to cook at home. Luckily, my hubby doesn't mind eating LC and has kind of gotten into some of the dishes...even asking for me to make them again. I need to look through my journal entries to see where I have been....I used to keep personal journals and when we were hit by Hurricane Ike and I lost everything, including my years' of journals, I kind of quit writing daily. I do try to use the one on this site daily as I know that by logging my food and writing, I am better focused. Will be anxious to see where you go this time around....I am always interested in one of your good recipes.

LOL I feel the same way about the Atkins account; FS is more user friendly, which, like you, is why I was drawn to it. However, they have made some changes to it to make it much more user friendly than it was. Logging info, into both websites, got to be redundant, and tedious, and also, like you said, the "peeps" here are much more responsive. It's hard for me to write, daily, being busy with work and church activities, so I'll do some journal writing, when I can, but my major focus will be logging my food, initially. I'm glad you like my recipes. I really don't like getting into a rut with my eating.

Logging in your food is very important and should be your first priority! However, just popping in to let us know how you are doing is also important. As my mom always said "just let me know you are okay!" Lots of good support here and it helps me immensely!
