The sodium in restaurant food can make a person gain/bloat the day after, even if you eat low calorie. So drink some extra water today and give it a day or two.

I agree fishing! I just told my hubs I don't want to go out to din tomorrow because of this very issue.

The key to eating out is planning ahead. Check on-line to see if the restaurant's website has a published menu.....then you can plan what you order, before you get there and are tempted by the overfatty and oversalted specials. Keep in mind, Specials are usually created when a kitchen has too much of something....they would rather sell the item than throw it out. Another tactic I use is sharing a meal, as most restaurant portions are not realistic for someone who is trying to reduce their size. Yes, they may charge you for an extra plate....but, it's worth the effort if it saves some calories. If they won't let you 'share', then ask for a doggie bag and put half of the entrée into the bag BEFORE you start eating. Last, but not least, ask the waiter if the chef can cook something to your specifications, e.g. grilled fish with no sauce and a lemon on the side. Obviously, this won't work at a fast food restaurant, but you don't want to eat that stuff anyway....right? I still prefer to cook my own meals, but sometimes you just have to eat in a restaurant.....sigh! Good luck, FishingGirl.
