Does anyone here have serious weight to lose and have complicating medical problems. I need to get my body moving, but have been sedentary for a long time - have multiple sclerosis and osteoarthritis. I'm going to start walking, but have to use a cane. Do you think a treadmill would be better for me?

I have a bad back from a car accident and bone spurs in my feet. Plus some other conditions I do not like to discuss as much. I love my treadmill as a starting point. It allows me to do as much or as little as I want. Outside walks can be hard. You start, go so far, get tired or in pain and you still have to get home. The treadmill doesn't judge if I stop early if I'm in pain or tired. Any exercise is a good start, treadmill or otherwise but check with your doctor first. I'm not sure if the handle is all you need or if you still need the cane with it. If you still need the cane I would probably try something else for safety reasons.
