I tested again and weighed in this morning. Not in ketosis and I gained two pounds!!! I am negative for any ketosis. How can that be? Where are the hidden carbs? Plus, my shins and legs ached all night. What am I doing wrong? I'm going to cut out almonds which I just added. Really, that is all I can think of. I am taking vitamins and drinking over 64 oz of water. Plus, I walk at least a half hour six days a week. I'm lifting weights about two to three days a week. Maybe I am eating too much cheese and not enough vegetables. I could scream but I won't. I'll keep hanging on because without this my life isn't worth much. I can't go back to living to eat.

I wish I had an example of a perfect meal plan in Atkins that I could eat. I guess I am picky- I gag on hardboiled eggs and can't stomach the thought of tuna. I can digest the omelets with salsa or RedHot. I am trying so hard! I just cannot believe that I gained weight! Everyone around me thinks I am crazy. They think I'm going to fall off the wagon and gain all the weight and more back. I want to prove them wrong. However, it's been weeks without a pound lost. My old clothes are big but not all are falling off. Its dumb to buy new clothes until I'm in a smaller size. I feel stuck and alone and confused. I don't want to switch diets because I love not dealing with cravings plus I never liked fruit anyway! Yet, I don't know if I can get any stricter on this. I guess I just have to be patient but that is easier said than done...

First, take a breath you are NOT alone. Second, I have been told that Atkins no longer suggests the Ketostyx as they are not always accurate. Third, take your measurements, these are a good indicator that things ARE changing even if the scale isn't showing it. Fourth, I didn't look at your food dairy but it was suggested to me to only eat 1 oz of cheese a day, not sure if there is any validity to this but I usually only have 1 and only occationally 2 oz a day. Next, are you eating Atkins products, SF jello, diet sodas, or more than 3 splendas a day, these can also stall you. Are you eating atleast 12 NC of veggies a day? Are you eating enough protein(pg 42 of the book will give you an idea of how much to eat)? Enough fat? If you are doing all of these things then you are doing it right. Sometimes our bodies need some adjustment time to new eating habits, new exercise habits, etc.... Hang in there, it will happen. I COMPLETELY understand your frustration but you are NOT alone............(((HUGS)))

I agree with everything danawiesner said. Do you have the book The New Atkins for a New You? There is an example menu on page 246 and 247. If not Im sure there is one on the Atkins website to give you an idea. And you definitely should journal what you eat everyday. Seeing what you ate over a weeks time and how it effects your weight really helps. For instance you can see if 3 oz of dairy slowed you down and cut it down the next week and see if it helps. If you are excercising that much measurements will tell you alot more than the scales. Muscle weighs more:) Dont give up until you try tweaking all the suggestions by danawiesner. Its great advice. Thanks so much! Great and much needed advice... I need a food scale. I think I'm eating way too much cheese and not enough protein. Also, I'm off the Atkins bars and stuff. I have the book but need to reread it. I'll look up those sample menus. Today was another bad day...up two more pounds! However, I will start to take measurements. Thanks again!
