Good evening everyone,

After a rainy Saturday, the sun finally came out today and it's in the 70's. We got to spend much of the day outdoors.

My food choices have been very healthy, but I've really been slacking with my water.

Tomorrow, DH has another doctor's appointment. His doctor called me Friday, and confirmed he does have diabetes. I'm glad i had already started a low carb/sugar change in eating. It's a big adjustment for him, but I'm confident we can stick to a healthy diet :)

I know how you feel , My husband too has diabetes and he is just now after a year of cutting out all the bad sugars and the bad Carbs, his sugars are back to were he is doing great, it will never be cured , but has them under control. I read this book and it is a great read it is called Fat Chance, by Doctor H. Lustig, MD. It was the mosst interesting read ... and put me on the fast track of cutting out all the bad sugars and carbs. It has been as I first said early one year to detox my body of the bad habits. But the journey has been so worth it. I lose the weight slowly and almost to the required weight I want to be. But this is a life style and I really don't want to go back. As said My husband is my greatest supporter and I his. We are both wanting a healthy life being that we are really just newly weds, of four year next month. lol I know that you and DH will achive your goals and if you get a chance to pick this book up please do , it will change your whole outlook on processed food. Wow, Diabetes is really prevalent in our country now! OK guys? what does D.H. Stand for? I thought of a few things, but I am sure that I am wrong?? (Desirable Husband, Darn smoking Hubie! Delightful Husband?? LOL) what? :)) ~Ann

Littleone58- thanks for the info! I'm going to look for the book for him. I know a few people who have reversed their diabetes, so that's what we are hoping for. It would be great to at least be off the meds :)

I think the weather defintitely helps with losing weight. I know all I want to do when it's cold is stay in I don't even want to ride in the car to go to the gym--LOL. It's supposed to be warmer here today and I'm hoping that I can go for a short walk during lunch--anything to get me away from my desk.

This is the last day of the Diabetes World Summit: www.thediabetes summit.com The Atkins has many stories of how diabetics no longer need some or all of their meds while on the diet. I am one of them, because my morning bg readings are below 100, and I do not take drugs.
