So I hit that point again...the mark where I start actively disliking how I look. My body shape is Rubenesque (just shape, not saying anything about the face :). I'm short but weight goes fairly evenly around: belly, butt, thighs, boobs. I keep my slim ankles, my waist, big bosom. So from the front it's not that bad. From the side I'm a pepper pot.

I get hungry. I like food a lot. So I'm doing the low carb thing. With low carb there's always something you can eat. I tried a low calorie diet but I was always hungry. With the low carb diet you can more easily ignore the fat content in the diet, therefore keeping the flavour too. Unfortunately, I love baking. Day one, I go to the grocery store & I told my son he can pick out a treat for dessert. He picks up danish. Custard danish. One of my favourites. Resolve time!

I've done the low carb thing before - down to 120 & a size 4 about 3 years ago. The thing that knocked me off the wagon was sweets: ice cream, cake, pie. I am pretty good at staying away from the potatoes, rice, pasta, and even bread. But a little nibble of ice cream one week turns into a full bowl with hot fudge and peanut butter chips the next. So time to be strong.

The ridiculous thing is that I LIKE vegetables. I LIKE meat, (some) fish and eggs. I LIKE the fruit that falls into the low carb category: berries & peaches etc. But I guess, deprivation is deprivation. And while I exercise, I don't have the time to exercise the four hours a day to burn off my desired licorice intake.

So...have to just change my mindset (easy peasy, right?).

I can choose to stuff my face with the food that makes me fat. Or I can choose to eat things that I like anyway that won't make me fat.

Stupid universe anyway.
