danawiesner's Journal, 10 June 2011

Okay, finally done with lunch. Thank goodness I am full of good food.

My daughter has been baking in the kitchen all afternoon, so my house smells of yummy cupcakes. There are cupcakes everywhere and frosting, both chocolate and vanilla.........

I need to do the dishes so it will be quite a test. No cheating!!

She is going to a Shabbat dinner and is so excited to be bringing something to share. So cute. But a true test for mom....ah to be rail thin like my girls, roflmao

That is how I always felt growing...oh, to be rail thin like my family...they are no longer built like that, and I am working on getting there! lol Have a wonderful evening. PS...just went back and read some of your previous journal entries...sent you a buddy request, and if I can help you in anyway, please let me know! I have been on this journey since Jan 2010, and just changed to The Primal Blueprint (fancy name for premaintenance Atkins, IMOP).

Thanks so much, I am always around (the sad part of being on disability, lol) If I have any questions, I will ask

Oh yeah, I was always thin but never saw that in myself, not ever....

Dana, we never see ourselves the way we really are...whether it's thin or thick...lol I never realized just how heavy I had gotten until we went to KC in Jan 2010 and my son took a picture of me with their puppy...oh my word...it was a real shock when I saw me the way others did...never again! I know how devastating a stroke can be...my grammy and my dad both had them. So glad that you are doing so well. How did the cupcake clean up go?

We are still working on it, lol. She is frosting and I will start cleaning then. She is so funny, while she was making the icing, she turned on the mixer too high and there was powdered sugar EVERYWHERE. As for my stroke, I was truly lucky. It could have been so much worse. I am walking (though a bit like a drunk, lol) just 4 months out, someone was watching over me.

Ahhh been there with the kiddos and making cupcakes, cakes, candy, and the powdered sugar fiasco...heck most of the time that happens it is me that does it! lol My dad was really lucky with his stroke last year...he was already on Coumadin, and it saved him from the devastation that it could have caused. Thank God...He is truly amazing! You are doing fantastic if you are already walking...dad has some residual hearing problems, and struggles with his speech from time to time, but other than that he is doing awesome. He is 83 1/2 and still mows and gardens...amazing!

Yes it is...he is such a trooper. My mom is only 73 but he takes care of her. She has some issues due to 2 brain injuries and she fell 3 years ago and shattered her ankle. Last year she had ankle replacement surgery and is doing better!

Oh my, that is a lot to go through, I am glad she is doing better. In my family it is me and my brother who are always sick, not my dad, he is very healthy.

I understand that, I have had to bake for the family, Girl Scouts and attend my son's wedding while changing my life long bad habits. It has been hard but as of today I am down 61 pounds in 7 months. I really want to get to my goal weight of 150.
