Monitoring my food intake and tweaking it for my desired goals is tough. Learning that it's not just about the amount of calories in vs calories out, but the right ratios of macronutrients too. Especially carbs and fats. Not discouraged though, I will get a handle on this.

Yup - you are so right! I am always tweaking my macros - finding that higher fat, moderate protein and low carb is helping me.

Yeah, that's the direction I've started tweaking mine too, with the exception of trying to keep my protein a little higher. The lack of carbs leaves me a little hungry, so the protein helps keep that at bay.

Right! I am also learning that the healthy fat is what keeps me from getting hungry, too. So avocado, a handful of almonds, a little olive oil on my salad. It seems wrong but eating healthy dietary fat actually boosts the fat burning metabolism. They say the liver will process protein down to glucose eventually - so I do moderate protein to allow my body to burn fat instead of sugars.
