DairyKing's Journal, 31 January 2015

Good afternoon, FS Warriors! It's a dreary rainy Saturday afternoon here that is supposed to turn cold and lay 3 to 5 inches of snow on us. I slept really good last night, first time in a really long time. Only the 2nd day of this antibiotic, so I guess I did have something going on other than just viral. Pressure is almost gone between my ears; I was beginning to think I couldn't possibly have had much gray matter up there, and still had that much mucus and stuff. It's been one rough month; I don't want to believe that these things hang on that long just because I'm getting older. I am getting older, but I've talked to young people at work that have had similar symptoms since November of last year. So, I think there is just some nasty stuff going around.

Well, I'll just have to wait and see if I'm going to be breaking out the tractor to move snow around tomorrow. I really want to just rest, and kind of stay out of the cold and the wind for a while, but a man has to do what a man has to do. Haha; only because nobody else is going to do it. DW is doing well; thankfully she got some kind of bug a while back, but got over it pretty quick. She's been up and about for the last 3 or 4 days, and seems to be coping well with the injuries from the accident. At least I'm not doing much cooking anymore.

In the past, DW has aways canned salsa, hot for me - but not hot enough :D, and mild for the rest of the family. Tomorrow, I am going to experiment with making fresh salsa with jalapenos and habaneros. Don't get me wrong; I'm not into pain or anything so hot that there is not flavor. The key is to find that perfect balance. I wil have to eat my mistakes though, so beware. Not really into either of the two teams playing in the Superbowl tomorrow, but I enjoy time with family, and watching the commercials. If it gets too boring, I'll just break out the guitar.

Well, Folks, here's hoping eveyone has a wonamous Superbowl Sunday! Toodles!

LOL! @ Bren! DK you DO sound so much better!! I mean you are planning on making salsa and breaking out the guitar later in the evening!! LOL! I get bored too with the games and even the ads aren't all that great anymore. Maybe this year they will be better. That's my favorite thing. :) Happy Sunday and so happy to hear you are finally on the mend!!!

I'm so glad you are recovering and so is your wife. Can't wait to hear how the salsa turned out :)

BTW, the salsa turned out great, but I have decided I am not that fond of the taste of habanero peppers - a funny fruity taste. However, when I put it on hot dogs or brats, instead of hot dog relish, wtih the other fixings, it tasted wonderful. I'm going to have to rethink this salsa strategy - maybe one for chips and one for meat dishes.
