Great morning so far. Don't go back to teaching until January 12th. As Xmas is not popular in Japan there are not many home/office parties and the Japanese don't eat all the junk food and the portions are generally small especially for sweets/cakes. However, if I really want I can find some very decadent pastries. One good thing is that a 5ooml container of Hagan Daaz is about $9 in Japan, so I have practically given it up. Not by will power, but by the high cost.

The skies are clear and the temp is quite mild. Going to eat out later today in the heart of Tokyo and have already planned a healthy meal of veggie sushi at the rotating sushi shop. My treat will be a low calorie cookie that I will take into Starbucks and have with a chai tea latte (my big calorie splurge).

I am really looking forward to the hot spring from 6-11pm with my good buddy JC. I will only do a very easy exercise routine today, but still burning calories even in the sauna at the hot spring/spa. It is the best onsen/hot spring in Tokyo and after 6 the cost is only 1,250 yen or about $12. This price includes 5 hours in the use of all the facilities, free tea, unlimited towels and a yukata or a Japanese bath attire to wear outside of the bath areas. An amazing deal.

I have not weighed-in for two days now as I am only do it a few days each week. They have many scales so I may check to see if mine is as accurate as those at the hot spring/spa.
