Did a nice bike ride yesterday. Was shooting for 30 miles but my routing wasn't so great and ended up with 29.3. Just as I got home, the family got home as well and FHC wanted to go for a bike ride. She said she wanted a long one. I was toast, but since I had promised her, I got the other bike out and off we went. Luckily her idea of a long bike ride and mine aren't quite the same. Either way though, I got my extra mile in, so I hit 30 for the day. The ride itself wasn't bad at all. I started feeling tired after 20 but finishing was not problem. I was absolutely dead afterwards though. I remember dealing with the same thing last year but the fitness should come back pretty quickly. It's nice not having to drag an extra 45lbs or so along on each ride.
195.8 lb Lost so far: 46.2 lb.    Still to go: 30.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

AWESOME!!! Glad you got a ride in! It's such a great feeling isn't it? Our weather was the best day so far this year. I couldn't STAND it!! Despite the fact that I was so sore from a Jillian Michaels core workout video the day before that it hurt to breathe, I hit the gym at lunch and then ran home after work and mounted up on the Kestrel. We screamed up the hill to Parkdale and back. Made a mock TT out of it with about 950 feet of climbing (on the non-climbing bike mind you), then donned the new running skirt and headed out the door to do the local 2 mile run. (brick workout). I was definately toast when I was done with all that. But there was something so wonderful about being able to run in a skirt and tank top!! Probably get a last swim in today and then off to TRI on Saturday! :) Of course it's supposed to be raining on Saturday. Oh well! I'll be wet anyway! LOL! You ever get the shoe/knee thing worked out for running?

Not yet. The nearest good shoe store is about 100 miles away and I haven't had a chance to get down there. The knees are mostly better now but I'm concerned about screwing them up and not being able to bike. I've been doing the elliptical trainer instead until I get the running thing sorted out. It's gotta be some kind of alignment thing. I've seen 300lb guys running so it can't be a weight issue.

I was able to ride while wearing shorts yesterday for the first time this year. It did feel good. I still had 2 layers of long sleeve shirts/jerseys on but at least my legs were free.

LOL!! Yes, I've done a few rides (very few) now with "naked" legs and it's such a nice feeling! Even if I have to start the day out with knee warmers and build up to "naked".

Two things I noticed while going 'naked'. One is that the seat feels a lot firmer with just shorts on. The second is that I have less padding down there than I did last year and I'm going to have to raise my seat a bit.
