Have decided to ditch Atkins for awhile at least. After 3 weeks, and losing 6lbs, I gained 5 back in 3 days. Still following Induction. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with the allergic reaction I developed, apparently from Flax seed or not. I'm hoping it did. Dr put me on prednisone yesterday, took my 1st dose this am. Hoping it kicks in soon, these hives are very itchy. I've never had a reaction like this to anything, so it totally threw me off. I am still continuing on my weight-loss journey, but will be doing so on my own. I'm going to use things I learned from Atkins, and other plans to develop my own. I have not set a date to lose the weight, just an amount to lose a week. Per FS, to lose about 1lb a week, I need to consume 1800 calories. Which seems like alot. Will be eating more fresh foods, lean protein, lots of veggies, cut back / out sugar & processed foods, more whole grains, fresh fruit, and complex carbs. I know I can lose, I just have to put my mind to it. Going about it my own way will still let me eat the foods I love, and I can do it in moderation, just need to change them up (whole wheat pasta instead of enriched, whole grain bread for white, no more fried foods, etc).
