I walked 2.5 miles yesterday and 3 miles today on trails at a park. It was very quiet out and so peaceful. Then I just set for 30 minutes after my walk and watched the ducks in the creek and the squirrels playing.

Walking isn't just helping me lose weight but it is also helping me mentally. Back in August I decided after 27 years of marriage I was going to file for a divorce. I really should have gotten a divorce several years ago but I felt like after being married that long I should really try to work through our issues and hang in there. The bad thing is when the other person really doesn't try to work through anything and just keeps doing the same old thing nothing gets resolved.

It feels really good to be putting myself first since I have always put my family first. Now it is my time. :)

I love walking through our golf course and along the river, and along the river I can take Daisy off her leash so she can run. Our park is nice but the cars zooming by at 40 in what should be a 10 zone aggravate me so I only go there when there's been snow as they plow the paths.

I agree, walks are great both physically and mentally. I'm always in a better place after I take a walk.
