Wow. A brisk 9 degrees outside and a brisk 46 when I got up this morning in the house. That's just not right. Guess I'm gonna have to start setting my alarm to wake me up every few hours so I can stoke the fire. Unfortunately our wood stove doesn't keep a fire all night. When I got home from work yesterday the house was 50. DH and Mom left about 11 am and I didn't get home until 6 pm. I thought that was cold until I got up this morning!!! BRRRRRR. I need a "no strings" sugar daddy to finance upgrading our home!!! LOL!!!

Did pretty well at the training with food. Those are always hard for me, especially when they have snacks available. I'm sitting, sitting, sitting (not what I do best) and I end up eating, eating, eating. Lunch was decent, a small green salad and a crossaint sandwich. I should have probably skipped the croissant but I didn't and it was delicious. Then they brought around plates of cookies!!! Well I couldn't hardly help myself. This big, round, golden brown cookie bursting with white chocolate chips, cranberries and nuts!!!! I did eat, one. But it sat in front of me for a LONG time and then I broke off one piece at a time until it was all safely in my digestive system.

Today I'm home. Mom is visiting friends in a neighboring town for her Miniature Meeting and will be staying the night. DH has to work tonight. I, unfortunately have to work today too but from home in my sweats!!!. I have a phone meeting in about 30 minutes for a couple of hours and then I have a grandmother that may be calling me, which reminds me I need to turn on my work cell phone in case she does call. I also have to review coaching logs for calls this coming week AND prepare myself for testimony on the case next week. Oh fun!!! At least I don't have to get dressed and drive anywhere, right?

So, despite the cookie (oh yes and the peanut butter crackers they left on the table as a snack) and a few Ritz sour cream onion cracker thingies in the later evening the scale decided to show me a decline. YAY!!!

So I'm busy stoking the fire trying like made to warm up this house, coffee in hand, ready to embrace the day!!! Uh huh ... well I am but I'm just COLD and really wishing I didn't have so much work to do!!!

Hope good things are in the forecast for each of you ... I'll just keep plodding along, practicing kindness, etc. Oh by the way ... DH? Well he told me last night when he got home he's down to 179 and he isn't even trying to lose weight!!! Oh ... my goal weight he's got it.

If you are looking to upgrade, I highly recommend a ductless mini-split heat pump system. It is a little pricey to install, but the running costs are similar to a fan. I got an interest-free loan from my state - even with the loan payments, I save $150 a month. Costs about $50 a month to run based on electrical cost of running the system, compared to $400 that I was paying for oil. And it does heat plus air conditioning, so it is two systems in one.
