FBG 92; I'm honestly wondering if the lemon water I've been consuming is helping my weight loss. Can't say it really is or why it would help. Could be something in the juice my body needs? I'm not drinking more water, just adding fresh lemon, VERY YUMMY btw. Of course, Solace IS giving me quite a workout so maybe it's just all part of that puppy therapy. At any rate, I'm losing fat so that makes me happy and as a result I'm able to have a few more carbs without my blood sugar spiking so YEAH! That is my goal. It's not the number on the scale per se' but improving my health I'm after.

Did something fun this morning. Made a wii mii for Solace. Found out she weighs 5 1/2 lbs. Little "fatty" lol (kidding). My last chihuahua weighed only 3 lbs full grown. Even at 5 1/2 lbs I can't handle her little feet if she stands on my lap. Fortunately, she's good at laying down.

Hope everyone is having a really Grrreat weekend!

According to a famous dietitian on Dr. Oz yesterday, lemon juice can DEFINITELY help to lose weight. I just don't remember why at the moment. LOL! It is also a deterrent for kidney and bladder stones and boosts the immune system. You really can't go wrong with it.

Yes Johanne, I think I've heard about weight loss using lemon juice somewhere a long time ago but generally don't put much stock in these things though I think I may change my mind about it now. As far as kidney and bladder stones, yes, that is true so I'm seeing this as a win-win situation. The warmer weather is coming which means more lemons and thankfully it's not bothering my blood sugar. YEAH!!

I think I'll buy lemons the next time I shop. I also like lemon in my tea, so it would be great to have them handy.

I love lemons in my water and tea. When I have lots of lemons, I squeeze them and freeze in ice cube trays. Then you just put a frozen cube in your water.

Johanne and Bonnie, sooo what do we do when life hands us lemons? We lose weight! Sounds goood. Think I'll keep this up and love the ice tray idea. ♪♪ice, ice..lemons♪♪ ..hahaha

Lemon water helps flush out toxins and if your eating similar ways as I am that too will eliminate toxins. Lemon water rocks! Your right about able to have more carbs once body fat is down but its the other way around when your over fat.... The leaner you get the more chances you can take eating more grains and starches. Making fun of your dog are you? At least dog cant call you fat or oink at you like my parrot does LOL

@Nelson lol, yeah picking a bit on my pooch a bit. Actually she's really lean as most VERY active puppies are. She does make me feel old though with all the energy she has lol but then there are a few 80 year old little women around here that have the same effect on me lmao. hmmm a parrot who oinks?? OMG don't ever give it away to someone with self esteem issues lol. Could be bad! Great info on the lemons!! I'm all for removing toxins which is another reason I love my dark leafy greens. Actually, we are eating simularly in keeping to healthy food choices. I am limited because I'm on the EBT (food stamp) program so can only get very limited healthy foods but from the local selection I have but I do fine in spite of there aren't any "organic" labels except on a couple of products in the store. Also no "grass-fed" anything here either <smiles>

Hi Ruby, I had no idea lemons helped with kidney stones. If that is so I am going to by me a bushel. I have passed 5 and the last one was awful. So thank you very much for the info.. I also like the ice tray idea. Kiss little pup for me..Have a great evening......Bren

Being on a limited food budget is very good though! Less to eat less to gain and less to prepare and more time to enjoy and work booty out LOL. Well that parrot is only 10 and has a good 50-60 years ahead of him... I am doomed until death should I sell him now? LOL

No problem Bren. I have a whole pitcher in my frig of water and a couple lemons. It's really good! Solace is ready for bed, napping in my lap <smiles>

My Great Grandmother had the most beautiful complexion. she gave the credit to the hot lemon water she would drink every night before bed. TOWANDA!!!!

@Nelson, actually I'm have just enough and not too much so I'm "good." As far as your parrot, he's sounds like a keeper LOL!!
10 Apr 11 by member: RubyRedSox
He is a keeper indeed! Chased him around the house last night because since its spring and he has gone wild he wanted to bite me so I chased him into a corner LOL. an hour later got him in his cage!

@Lisa, my great grandmother had beautiful skin., lived into her 90's and kept her girlish figure. Maybe lemons were her secret too lol.

@Nelson, hahaha! It must be a real challenge getting a parrot back into their cage. My mom had pigeons and they weren't easy. Speaking of pets with spring fever; Solace runs from room to room, yapping shrilly like she's on crack lol!

Ever since owning a parrot I hate spring!!! Viscous animal he is now LOL!!!
