Welcome to "Puppy Therapy"

Awww.. puppies are great! Ya know there's nothin that'll wake you up faster then stepping sleepy-eyed outta of bed into a nice pile of poop. EXCEPT of course that sound you hear in the middle of the night JUST BEFORE they throw up on your nice clean bed. So YES I'm awake before I've even have had my coffee.

It's now 10 am and we've already been for a walk and now she wants to play. Apparently the "someones" who had her before me had a whole LOT of energy. Solace wants me to throw her toys so she can fetch "sometimes". What a fun game but this game can last almost all day and I'm done after only a few throws. What a bummer for her.

So, in order to make this an easier transition for both of us I'm going to the store today to get her some chew sticks to keep her busy. She's been chewing on the cardboard bed I made her. Well, she is a puppy after all lol!

I found she also likes to climb onto my puter desk..who knew? So gotta move the chair before I leave. It's kinda like having a toddler in the house lol.

So the therapy is going well. I've already lost 2 lbs since I got her!! <smiles>

All I can say is wow. It's a lot better than what my puppy did to me when he was just a few weeks old. Its a combination of the floor and the bed thing you mentioned. How old is she?

I am really sorry.. but BAHAHAHAHA I am only laughing because my puppy threw up right on my friggen pillow last night and missed my head by inches, you know what I did??? i threw the pillow on the floor and rolled over. Princess still hasn't figured out that fetch is a game, she looks mortally wounded when I throw the toy after she gives it to me its like "seriously, why did you throw it away I thought you would like it" lol and the poop... at least it was where you could see it Princess hides to poop on the floor because she knows she will get in trouble.

Hi Keli, Solace is 6 months old. Alot of the tummy troubles is the long trip she had here and seeing the people she knew leave. It is actually pretty tramatic the 1st few days for some pets. Now she's just adjusting and so am I. hmmm.. she's not really interested in the rawhide chews I got her though...maybe later.. I'll cook up a couple of chops tonight and give her a bone.

LMAO @Pixi... man...puppies ae like little kids that bark! I take Solace outside but she won't do anything more than sniff the grass. She has pads in the house but isn't all that "trained" yet and has really bad aim anyways. Oh, great idea about the lamb bones but my little store doesn't carry anything but the big monster beef bones. Will have to do some checking around. Oh and Pixi..where's the pics of Princess...hmmmm??? lololol

lol there are a couple floating around here but we will do a photo shoot later tonight for new pics. Princess will not go outside in the winter, she will stand and look at me like I am crazy, and now the grass is too wet, she has pads as well but prefers to mess on the carpet. Monster bones and chichis are hilarious.. .princess has tried to steal my moms bloodhounds bones more than once.

Hey, try putting some poop on one of the pads or wipe it in urine and let her smell it there on the pad. No, it's not attractive leaving it there but she'll get the idea pretty soon. And if you haven't found them yet, they even have some with grass on it. Looks just like a piece of sod. Pretty funny.

Puppy therapy is wonderful! I am so happy for you two now that you have each other. Walking with your new doggy will also be a great motivator to get some exercise this summer, how fun for you guys! TOWANDA!!!!

Ah, the joys of puppy parenthood...you definitely could include all your extra physical exercise playing with her in your exercise journal. Hey, it looks GREAT! Bought the book today...read most of it on the road. Interesting...alot of overlap of other stuff I've read, but he's got lots of great points and a super sense of humor, which I need! I am on "vacation" at the beach for 3 days and plan to study it well...You sound so very happy with Solace, congrats!
