Hi. I’ve already shared my defeat with losing weight. And recently I was told to try Atkins diet. The prediction was to lose up to 20 pound in two weeks. That sounded great for me and decided why not. So I’ve started exactly two weeks ago and I was seriously following all rules but I could only lose 10 pounds. I was okay with the result but obviously I did expect more. Why do you think I wasn’t able to lose more? Is it the peak and I wouldn’t be able to lose more weight?
My close friend said to me that I also need to be physically active then I will lose more pounds. But as I explained before I work in the office and most of the time I just sit at my desk with a computer. Last weekend I went for a run. I didn’t realize that it would be so difficult (last time I did that at school). I guess it should be more like a cycle because running once a week is not enough and my body can’t get used to it. By the way this weekend I’ll try again. After work I have 2-3 free hours and I want to find a session of simple exercises that I can do at home. My “weak parts” are belly and hips and I read that they are the toughest in changing. So if you know any good exercises or these parts it would be awesome.
I also heard that doing pilates is very useful in the process of losing weight. Have anyone tried it?
I’ll look forward to hear from you. Have a good day and all the best)

Seriously I would walk. That's what I do every morning (you would l d obviously need evenings). Try walking around at lunch time. I'm not a fan of Atkins, but that's just me. I try to just balance everything and eat healthy. 5 pounds a week is good. Also watch your salt. Water weighs a lot. As always, take what works and discard the rest. Your mileage may vary.

I do pilates at home and really enjoy it. My favorite is a DVD by Ellen Barrett called Fat Burning Fusion. It's fun, and all standing, so no getting up and down from the floor :) Pilates are great for burning calories and toning. Best of luck to you!

20 lbs in 2 weeks is so unrealistic. 10 lbs in two weeks is amazing. You didn't fail! Most people are happy with 1 or2 lbs a week, which is also much healthier and something you can do for the long haul. Upping your exercise is always a plus. Even if you do 10 minutes three times a day, it will help. The only people who lose the kind of weight as fast as you are talking about are the people on TV shows who exercise hard for huge portions of every day and limit their calories to 1000 - 1200 per day. Be kind to yourself and be realistic about what you are doing. I'm with Msbuggirl. I'm not a fan of Atkins, however, many of my friends swear by it. Do what works for you but keep an open mind. Good luck!
