Rockimtnhii's Journal, 20 September 2014

Today is the first day of the rest of my life. So excited to begin this new journey. So many things in life that I want to experience; like parasailing, or zipline fun, or getting up from my desk at work and not hearing my bones creek. Or, not seeing my feet swell to balloon status from sitting. Anyway, I would love to hear from you all and Lord knows I need the encouragement.

You can do it!!! Don't ever give up, and even if you have an off day, don't get discouraged! I have learned that my Fat Secret friends encourage me more than any of my friends and family. So hang in there, and always track food and write in your journal... Even when you don't feel like it, make yourself do it! When I'm logging what I eat, I always eat healthier because I always ask myself, " Is this worth tracking?", before I put it in my mouth. When I don't log my food, I eat like there's no tomorrow, then I feel guilty, fat, and awful... So tracking everything holds me accountable, and it helps a lot! Good luck to you!

Jessberry, thank you for the encouraging words. I'm so ready for this. I'm taking your advice and am going to track my food. I'm hoping this will help.

Welcome, this is a good place to be, for lots of support. It's interesting the things you learn about yourself and others here. Track your foods, journal, if you make them public others can help you more.

Just know that this site and the people here that are active are sincerely understanding of our battle. I've just started going to an OA meeting and I have found that there are people there that are very supportive and can relate to my challenges with obsessive, compulsive, addiction to food. It is so comforting to have found this group. They even allow me to bring my 89 year old mother (Alzheimer's) with me to the meetings.

JMA312 You're right I am finding some really nice people on this site. Many who are willing to help and it's nice to be surrounded by people who understand the struggle.
