I managed to get a walk in last night. No snow, just rain, but that's supposed to change tonight. We're supposed to have a freeze, and then it will start warming up again by the weekend. I'm unable to get the gym membership on this paycheck, and with the hunting trip coming up, probably not on the next one either. My son is playing violin in the orchestra this year, so the money I had thought to put towards a gym membership went to renting his instrument instead. I hope he likes it as much as he thinks he will, because he's committed to it for the school year.

Hang in there, I know how it goes. I would love to join a gym but cannot afford it. I walk, do Wii boxing, and in 12 more pounds I can start using the little cheapo step climber I bought on sale a while back. What I wouldn't give to have an extra room to set up my elliptical that has been sitting in storage for years. Just keep moving anyway you can and it will work out :)

Look like you are doing a great job! Ask you local YMCA if they have a DPP (Diabetes Prevention Program). They have different options as far as payment and the program includes membership for your entire family that is living with you. If you tell them you situation you may be able to get reduction in price. Keep up the great work!

ammittai, we do have the "Just Dance" games for the Wii. I'm going to have to start kicking my husband out of the living room for his Couch potato-ry, and challenge my 13 year old to some competitions. She'll love that because she'll kick my butt and will love rubbing it in that she's better than me. AnnDC1, thank you very much for the suggestion. I really appreciate the support!

Ooh I want to get the Just Dance game too, I just haven't found it used around here yet. I might have to order it from Amazon.

We have most of them, and they're fun. There is a way to cheat on them to get the score. But if you honestly get up and do the appropriate moves, it can be a surprising work out. There's like two we don't have yet and my daugter is begging me to get them for her for Christmas.

It's amazing how good of a work out you can get from those dance games! They're becoming a new favorite work out of mine when I don't really have the motivation to go running
