I actually re-started this journey on 8/21, but was not able to put that date in for some reason. I've ditched low carb, because I found it too restricting, and for me this eventually leads to disaster. Low carb did work for me a couple of years ago, but I slipped and gained back pretty much all of the 70 lbs I lost. I've decided to simply calorie count this time and it's working well so far. I'm learning portion control and losing 1 -2 lbs a week so far. Now to change the diet info I'm currently on. . .

Just a thought -- if you research "low carb" -- you'll find that that anything under 200 grams per day is low carb. The 20grams or under limit many people adopt is basically "no carb" not "low carb." I discovered low-glycemic dieting about 4 years ago. It stresses balancing, so that your carbs always fall below 50% of your calories -- I try to get to 33% -- and also that you replace all the bad "white" stuff with complex carbs: brown instead of white rice; sweet potatoes instead of white potatoes; sprouted grain breads and cereals; lots of high-fiber veggies to cut back on the starch on your plate. And of course -- portion control. This combination has really helped me. When I get on a roll with this, not only do I lose weight but I also feel much much healthier.

So glad you're back on your journey! I recently started my journey again as well... I find in just a few days if I cut out breads and pastas and then reintroduce them, I gain the weight I lose almost immediately. I too am practicing at writing a daily log of what I'm eating to have a better sense of what's going in so I can make changes. You've got this, girl!
