Breakfast Downgraded From 'Most Important Meal of the Day' to 'Meal' - The Atlantic

Eight hours of solid sleep with no wide-awake episodes and vivid dreaming (space exploration). Eight minutes on the Air Walk Trainer first thing in the morning.

Today is overcast with lower humidity, leading to my feeling that fall is on the way, despite a high of 87. A week of temperatures in the eighties - yeah!

The feeling has solidified that I bought the wrong scale despite glowing reviews for the EatSmart from sites such as the Wirecutter. I may regift the scale although I may call customer service and ask them why my body fat reading is so far off.

Rather than take my Omron body fat readings in the morning, I'm going to start taking then in the evening when hydration has had a chance to disperse through the body. I'm going to try to drink a cup of water an hour before I take the reading, and I'm going to try to take readings at the same time, in hopes of getting more consistency.

Omron body fat monitor: 31.3 (late evening), BMI: 19.3. First reading I've taken in the late evening.

Today is a down day (500 calories). This is the first of two down days because Sunday is a cheat day, and that would essentially mean two up days back-to-back, and I'd rather have two down days instead, in the interest of continuing to lose weight. I really want to get rid of my paunch.

Today is a strength training day. Eight minutes of stretching in bed. Three sets of wall slides (planks for your legs). Forty-five minutes of a whole body conditioning dumbbell program, three sets of 10 reps each, five-pound dumbbell bars with Fat Gripz. I had some difficulty holding the Fat Gripz, particularly with the left hand. Either that's a sign that my grip needs strengthening or I need to switch to a smaller size. Cardio: 50 minutes on the Air Walk Trainer.

Reade about halfway through "Mini Habits: Smaller Habits, Bigger Results." I'm going to use the techniques in the book on diet and exercise.

I'm thinking about getting a foam roller to see if it will help me deal with my back tension.
