JKL2012's Journal, 14 July 2014

I just had my fitness assessment with a personal trainer at GoodLife, and I am definitely surprised at some of the results. My physiologic age is 32 (I'm 28), my body fat is 30% and I should be aiming for 18% (24% at the worst!), and I have the lungs of a 48 year old. I'm sure part of the assessment is to scare you into motivation.... and it definitely worked!

I went for a hard run after and thought a lot about why I had been so successful last summer, and why I struggled now. I am essentially in the same boat - BUSY and LONELY (only 6 more weeks of living by myself then Greg moves to London!). At least I have Apollo with me now!

With regards to my health lately, I would say several things: I have definitely not been getting enough sleep, but other than that I've been pretty good! Mon-Fri I eat basically paleo, I've worked out at least twice per week, and I'm trying to be healthy overall!

Anyways, I have quite a ways to go apparently, so here are my goals just for this little week:
1. Get in one more cardio workout and 2 weight training sessions BEFORE friday (next appointment with PT is Friday at 6pm).
2. Eat clean all week
3. Drink 2 full water bottles of water each day

OK! Goals for the week :) Maybe my very long away wedding day will help to motivate me in my changes this time!

You are on the right track. I had a trainer 4 years ago and together we discovered that I like to workout and get physical but doing the same routine bores me and then I slack off and quit. He challenged me with a different workout every two days. I was working with the trainer for three days and on my own the rest of the time. Keep in mind your body will be sore but you will be better off in the long run. I was grateful for the muscle strength training, because little did I know in 2008 I would have to learn how to walk all over again after suffering a septic infection that left with arthritis in both knees. I tell you this because I walk up to two miles on treadmill in 45 minutes, no medication at all, no pain, I took Tai Chi for six months. My doctor does not understand me, but tells me to keep doing what I am doing and don't tell his patients, because I will put him out of a job. I have 45 pounds to loose now because I ate my way through a bitter custody battle for my son. I lost and I am now just starting to get my old fighting spirit back to battle the bulge now. I assume that Apollo is a dog/cat. According to what I just read that is a good choice to help you keep the weight off. Also you are never alone because you a princess and your father is the KING (God), remember that every time you think you are lonely. Now stand tall and remember you are a royal and you must get that body back into royal attire befitting a princess on her wedding day and everyday afterwards. (PS: You will love the way you look in that new wardrobe and absence makes the heart grow fonder especially with an new attitude and new lingerie.) (Smile honeymoon attire) Tip: Get some ground flax seed and and start sprinkling over your food, my trainer had me start with that and it helps with the weight loss. Remember work at your own pace this is not a sprint but a marathon that will last you a lifetime. Small changes everyday will make the difference and the payoff will be wonderful.

Thanks for the support :D It feels good to get your life back on the right track doesn't it? You sound like you have the strength it takes to fight (not eat!) through anything, so all the best in your rebuilding! And thanks for the flax tip, I will definitely give that a try!
