Raylotekka's Journal, 17 June 2014

Well, it's going slowly, but it's going. I'm about 18.4 pounds down, since starting the diet 12.5 weeks ago. Three weeks into Atkins Induction, I went off the diet for 4 days -- so I could enjoy a trip to wineries out on the North Fork, and so I could actually EAT at two Passover Seders. Then I went back on the diet.
I've had a few designated 'cheat' days for special occasions -- Mother's Day, Father's Day, and pizza with old friends (one was visiting NYC from Pittsburg, and we made plans to enjoy Brooklyn pizza together). Pizza helped me gain this damned weight, LOL. [insert weary sigh]

I'm currently (finally) at the lowest weight I've been in at least 3 years, and some old clothes are now fitting, most are at least two sizes smaller. I'm working to get back to where I was in mid-2009, which is about 30 pounds lower. I have soo many things in a size 12, and I need to get THERE.

I don't like the way my body feels at this weight, and I am amazed that two years ago I let my weight reach 221. To put that fully in context, there was a time when I would have considered the 220's a good weight range for me. However, I had RNY Gastric Bypass on 1/7/03, and I didn't have my insides surgically rearranged to just go backwards. My highest weight was almost 300 pounds, and I am under 5 feet tall. I never thought I'd be over 200 pounds again, so while I am proud of myself for addressing this weight, I'm pissed that I let myself gain so much. The weight gain seems to have started after my last ortho surgery, when I was on crutches and depressed.
194.6 lb Lost so far: 9.0 lb.    Still to go: 64.6 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
