I went to the doctor today for weight loss and my bp was 130/89, a little high form me. Also took my BMI which was 42.2, still too high, but I lost 1 pound, yeah! Better than going up

I have been reading some of the posts and time just flies because a lot of you are telling my story. I can't wait to get to know some of you and maybe share some of the foods that fulfill my sweet tooth but don't affect our bottom line. My worst problem right now is not being able to get up in the morning in time to do some exercising. I really need to start moving more. I need some motivation. I need to sleep so that I can get up early. I was in the army for pete's sakes. I have discipline. Ever since my knee replacement, where I got to sleep a lot, really messed me up. Now I must battle the demons and dragons. I must find a way to behavior modify. Suggestions welcome!!!

Hi Gum... welcome. To get a good start on your program, determine what your rdi should be daily. Then get into the habit of entering all food you eat daily. When you do that, you're keeping track of everything you eat and can go back and make adjustments and corrections to your diet in order to lose weight. Consider some form of exercise also. Walking is excellent.
