Had surgery on my foot 12 days ago and had to stop all walking and exercise for a bit. Caused a little bit of a set back in my weight loss, and I may even have gained back a couple of pounds. Just when I was amping up my exercise and increasing my walking too! It's a little discouraging....but it's getting a little better everyday. Actually walked one lap around the track at the park near our house day before yesterday. Slow and steady and still wearing my surgical shoe!!! It's like starting over!

Jraeb, you can do it.. even with the setback of the foot surgery.. today is a new day.. new beginning.. look ahead.. don't look back at the setback..

If you're up and walking without making excuses (a surgical shoe would make a great excuse!) it means you've really changed your lifestyle and formed new habits. You will get past this setback with all flags flying, I'm sure of it!

I know for sure that I'm going to keep on keepin' on. Still eating healthy & watching fat, carb & calorie intake. I know it will all be okay, and I'll just increase my walking a little at a time. The surgical is supposed to be history in 2 more days, so as soon as the nerves heal up and aren't as sensitive I'll build back up to my 2-4 mile a day walks! For now one lap around the 1/4 mile track a few days a week will just have to do.
