I've given up. I went to the gym, training with a trainer for 3 days a week plus ate their high protein, low carb diet, and did cardio at least 2 a week in addition to the gym. I'm a little tighter but my legs actually got bigger and I've lost no weight. I'm just going to try to maintain my 140 and deal with the fact that at 41 I am what I am. I'm not willing to give up everything I find enjoyable to be miserable and lose weight for 8 months. Just not happening.
139.5 lb Lost so far: 9.5 lb.    Still to go: 9.5 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
gaining 0.5 lb a week

Finding a balance is a good thing. If you have to be miserable and can't enjoy life, than what good is it. Finding that balance of food and exercise is important. Sounds like you are working towards it. Good luck!
