LauriSinger's Journal, 30 April 2014

I might have actually lost another pound! Scale was down this morning, but I never believe it until I see it at least 2 times. I feel like I'm back in ketosis. Last Monday I started strict Atkins 72 induction. Thursday I felt like I was in ketosis again. Friday I got a diet coke from McD's, and a supposedly 100% cheeseburger at a local restaurant. Saturday I felt out of ketosis. I finally felt like I was back in yesterday. Now I see why some people say they just DON'T eat out! If I'm back in ketosis again, which it feels like, I hope I will start to see some movement on the scale. If I do, then it means I'm really carb sensitive, because I had to eliminate all veggies in order for it to move. I will keep watching and tweaking this WOE. I did have to consciously up my calories to around 1000 to combat weakness. I didn't feel hunger, but felt really tired. Perhaps I don't know what hunger really feels like.

807 calories is extremely low - unless you are like 3 ft tall and 100 yrs old. No WONDER you are tired. It's extremely dangerous to go below even 1200 for ANYONE. I would def go see a DR if I were you.

Hi Lauri, are you on Fat Fast?

No, I'm not on a fat fast. Atkins said one of the reasons his diet works so well is that it makes us less hungry, and thus we consume fewer calories. I have almost no hunger, and so my caloric intake can go pretty low. I'm having to eat more than I am hungry for because my energy is low. Now that I've pushed up to around 1000 calories, I'm not feeling the fatigue I had at 800. I eat eggs, cheese, and meats.

I do, however, try to keep my fat high... around 70% if I can.
