LauriSinger's Journal, 25 April 2014

From my readings, I am seeing that consuming more than about 80g of protein could be TOO much protein, and that would get stored as fat. So when I slow/stall, I need to check how much protein I'm consuming. I did not lose anything last week. I returned to Original Atkins '72 this week, which only allows salad greens for vegetables. Although I haven't weighed, my pants are looser. Watching protein levels means I have to actually think about eating more fat--strange concept for someone who has tried to eat low fat. I've also been reading about eating fats, and seeing that a lot of our country's emphasis on low fat has been based on erroneous data. Right now I'm staying under 10 carbs. Other than that, I eat as my hunger dictates.

Diet Calendar Entry for 25 April 2014:
1191 kcal Fat: 92.26g | Prot: 80.85g | Carb: 3.88g.   Breakfast: Egg, Cheddar Cheese, Kroger Fully Cooked Bacon. Lunch: Oscar Mayer Traditional Bacon, Cheddar Cheese, Ground Beef (Cooked). Dinner: Nathan's Famous Beef Franks. more...

The ideal amount of protein is to take your body weight and divide by 3 and that's the number of grams you should shoot for :).
