Other then eating maybe 1000 over last Sunday when we went out I am not sure why my weight is up at all. My lower days through the week should have made up for what ever over I had. That is why i like eating a little under when I plan to go out and indulge at other times. I wonder if when your pregnant you retain more water even without the added sodium because the math says a gain like this isn't possible. I know she should be growing half a pound of week but if I didn't eat the calories needed to have gained that how does that work?... I mean that would be about right. My weight went up 1.4 pounds and she should have went up almost a pound. I would think it would take from my body instead. Not concerned about the weight gain for all you who are reading this. Just curious to the science behind how things work. I guess I will just see what happens in the next few days. Maybe I am just "backed up". If my weight drops within the next couple days I will just weigh in again. If not who cares! I have a baby who is almost done baking. Only 45 more days until my due date. I really hope I don't go over.

I can tell you with absolute certainty that you retain more water when pregnant. I'm a postpartum nurse. I don't know how far you are into your pregnancy, but your baby will have growth spurts, especially at the end of your pregnancy. Don't be too hard on yourself, just keep eating well!

I thought of this also, if you are simply retaining water, drinking more water can help flush the extra water out. but, if you are beginning to experience a lot of swelling, go see your doctor because there could be other things going on.
