Let me start out saying that I have been "trying" to lose weight since last June. I was doing great until I switched jobs, had some emotional issues, and then had to move and the holidays were rolling in. I was all ready to start again in January, new year, new me sorta thinking. Yea, that failed. I was back on Weight Watchers, but the amount of points allotted for my weight was far too many calories for me to actually lose the weight effectively. You know what worked? Seeing someone you hate, a person that is terrible on the inside, lose the weight you couldn't. As terrible as that sounds, I had dinner with her (we have some mutual friends) 2 weeks ago. She has gone from a size 20 (my guess) to about an 8 (my guess again). Yea, if that dumb you know what has more will power than I do, where does that leave me. I am good person, I swear, but she has become my inspiration to not over eat and to exercise when I don't really feel like it.

With a mixture of watching my fat intake, increasing my protein, counting calories, and 45 minutes of exercise a day, I have lost 8 pounds in two weeks. I make sure that I burn more calories than I take in every day. I have also started brushing my teeth after I eat, so I am less likely to eat when I should not.

I have never been skinny, but I have always loved myself. I have awesome self esteem. Who knows where that comes from. My parents have always been on my case to lose weight. I played basketball year round in high school (3 teams) and was also on the lacrosse team, but was still never "skinny".

My goal is not unrealistic. I just want to get to 195. Under 200. My "ideal" weight for my height and gender is 175, but even in high school, working out 3 hours a day 6 days a week and eating healthy, that did not occur.
