It's Sunday! And my cheat...a Coffee Cup Chocolate Molten Lava Cake! Yes, you read it right, people. You prepare this dark chocolate batter in an 11-oz coffee mug and in a couple of minutes...Voila! Found this recipe for my weekly chocolate treat and saved calories for it all day today (so I'm still well within range). I should work out but, alas, methinks I will just sit here on the sofa, savor the flavor for another few minutes and then brush teeth for the night. Ah, yesssssss, technology is a wonderful thing. Complete and utterly sinful decadence in a little more than 90 seconds. And now the raging chocolate demon within will lie in wait for another seven days subdued and lolled into a chocolaty sleep. Night, All :D

SDallyn, I count a success to learn to make something that's one-and-done. Last week I made a mere dozen chocolate cupcakes (I ate two over the week). And today the coffee mug cake. So, the kids, the hubby and I each get one and then we're done. Enforced portion control -- I call that progress (wink)! And chocolate is the BEST cheat I've got (although Adolphus white rice and brown gravy run a very close second for me). LOL!

Sounds yummy! Now I'm hungry for chocolate. Ok, I am on the computer and will look for a "healthy" homemade treat right now. I just have to remember to make room in the day to account for the additional calories.

SDallyn, I love a healthy twist on a chocolate favorite. I think next week I'll try a Chocolate Zucchini Bread. The fam will never know what hit 'em! (As you can see, chocolate REALLY satisfies for me too)!

Too funny, SDallyn! I was just thinking that I don't think a zucchini ever cross the threshold of my childhood home...E-V-A-H! But trust me when I tell you there was plenty from-scratch German Chocolate Cake to go around. Now that I know better, I sincerely try to do better in the kitchen.

It's always on hand in my house (and my sons at least know what it is). But honestly, I don't recall ever seeing it at home as a kid! Probably better that way because I would likely have an aversion to overcome. Every vegetable ran the serious risk of being 'boiled' into oblivion before serving. A-h-h....perfect (Not)! In the South, we ate a lot of vegetables, but (by today's standards) pretty overcooked.
