FitOKay's Journal, 31 March 2014

I hope everyone had a good weekend, and is having not too bad of a Monday ;-)

I think my weekend was a success. The shower food was pretty unhealthy. There was a tower of baked treats, which I didn't touch. Even the salad was pretty drenched in dressing. So I just picked up a small salad plate instead of a full size plate to limit portions and then counted that as my lunch.

Weighing every day befor helped keep me accountable. However I think I'm going to test run weighing in on Sunday's. Don't mind me, I'm just wiggling around here working out what's the best current tracking fit for me ;-) I'll still be tracking food every day but Sunday and journaling every day. I think a mon-sat food tracking with a sun weigh and every day journal is still a very reasonable tracking plan.

How are everyone else's plans and goals going?

I was pretty proud of myself. They had chocolate covered strawberries I looked at pretty hard befor taking a breath and picking up a spoon if mixed strawberry, blueberries and raspberries instead. Lol, it was a close thing. I almost thought, just one.. but I don't think I could have stopped at just one with watching everyone else eating them =p I am pretty proud of myself for that decision especially =)

Good for you!! Sounds like you had a victory in the face of temptation. I have been on this site for a while and have switched my weigh in days numerous times, you'll find what works best for you. The key for me lately has been making sure to record everything I eat on the weekend. So keep tracking, it really works!

thanks for your support, you must do what you think is right for you. But you have to walk the walk. Tracking is just a tool for yourself to see how you are walking... Me? i walk the walk.

I use freedieting (dot) com/tools/calorie_calculator (dot) htm You'll have to fix the url as the site won't let us post urls correctly. Just enter you're weight, height, age, gender and I always choose sedentary since Fat Secret will track the exercise calories on here. It will give you three numbers, I use the lowest as my normal rdi and then let myself eat up to the highest (maintenance) a couple days a week so it evens out in the end at an average weight loss.

Showers and parties are tough. I had a 4 yr old's birthday party yesterday. Nothing like looking at sugar for several hours, knowing you can't have it. lol Went over on calories a little, but nothing to sweat bullets over. First day that I went over in almost 2 weeks. Looks like you tackled your challenge quite well. =)

Church had 'Breakfast Day" where designated folks bring in. Not a single fruit or good-for-you option made it to the table (only doughnuts, pastries and other store bakery items). Was rushing and skipped breakfast at home, so this was NOT the place for a starving person. It took everything in me to hold strong against the sugar onslaught! (Although, I have read that something for breakfast is better than nothing at all, so I probably should have taken a third of pastry or something...). Ah, weAkends!

Thanks Calyn! I hope you're having a good Monday too! I agree, that can be a very effective plan. I don't believe you will eat too much on Sunday because you already have a good idea of your RDI :)
