Katsolo's Journal, 31 March 2021

Long walk last night, nothing else except a five minute spin in the middle of the day to warm up. I seem to be holding on to that muscle I gained. I don't know if it's actually 94.1 pounds, but the blob has receded over a number of days, I'm wearing pants without elastic in them (meaning old school jeans vs. leggings or sweats) and I've had people notice changes. Suuuuper interesting turn of events. So, I'm really pleased with what's happening. And OMG, physical improvements take so much longer to achieve than when I was in high school. Duh. Very grateful I have that base to work with though. 😆 Couple of things to consider: I'm getting up a full hour earlier these days (ugh), there may be elimination factors (figure it out), I'm eating a little more mindfully the last week, full moon. My guess is that it's going to maintain at about 92# of muscle mass per this scale. Will be interesting to see what it says on the weekend. Spin bike is probably building my legs back up. I carry a ton of muscle there, always have, always will. Think "she has her father's calves." It's not a bad thing though. The muscle is there, it's been waiting to come back big time. I should measure this weekend for giggles.

As of this past weekend, one of my favorite breakfast spots is no more. 😢 Going to be replaced by a fancy fried chicken spot. No such thing. I will probably never eat there because I eat chicken all the time and if I'm spending my calories on food, it's not going to be chicken unless I'm at a large function like a wedding and it's the chicken/beef conundrum (they don't think it's funny when you just say yes). We just ate there the weekend before last. Like one of only three places I went to regularly during the plague. It's not a hater thing, I'm just not there for it.

My sweet girl at the park last night. Almost 14 years old and between walks with me and mom, she probably walked 6 miles yesterday. Happily. She always wants to play, too. Proof that moving makes life better. I follow her mantra. Go, go, go. And so it goes. Onwards.

14 years??? My word! That's ages in doggie-years. IDK why I keep choosing pets that I out live....wait....They're so darn cute! That's why. I think I want a parrot, next time, but I am going to start w/a couple of canaries/love-birds first. Parrots, I've heard, out live their parents. Maybe I will leave everything to the parrot...IDK jjk but really. :)

She is a medium size dog, so there is a good chance she can make it to 16 or even 18. I'm hoping she sticks around as long as possible. She is my love bug.
