The Triathlon went well. We finished strong. It was a mini sprint timed event. Meaning, you see how far and fast you can go in 10 min swim, 15 min bike and 15 min run, all back to back.

Here are my results:
10 min swim: 1/4 mile (17.5 lengths of the pool)
15 min bike: 4.64 miles
15 min run: 1.53 miles
Total: 6.43 miles in 40 min.

It all went well, but I really struggled on my run as I felt like I wanted to throw up the minute I stepped on. We ate Chinese last night and although I did not eat a lot, it did not sit well with me with all that exertion. So, in that regard, the run was a huge struggle, but I made it through. I looked at other people's times and I think I am somewhere in the middle where I finished. We will get the other area YMCA's scores sometime soon and I will get the official results tomorrow I think for the 20 people who did it here. All were pretty fit athletes, so I am pretty pleased with my results. Included in participating was the "All American Amateur" triathlete who finished around 8.6 miles total. She followed us and ran at a 9.6 mph pace!! So, all in all I feel good and am proud of setting a hard goal and going for it!

Way to go! Just think of how far you've come from where your abilities were just one year ago. That earns a gold medal from me. Great job!

Congratulations!!! You did great. I'm sorry to hear the chinese food the night before wasn't sitting to well. When I was in swim team, the night before big meets we always had a team spaghetti dinner and loaded up on carbs. That never seemed to cause problems and was less greasy than chinese food tends to be. You could always substitute the hamburger for chicken, ground turkey...or go meatless. That is awesome that your gym has mini traithalon trainings like that! I should start looking around here for one that does so I can get into the competing!
