Okay - here I am! For the last few weeks my goal has just been to maintain my current weight loss until I got my first fill. So yesterday was my appointment and I wasn't too nervous since I had gone with my friend before and watched her get her fill done. They had me lay down and numbed the area around the port with lidocaine - so just a stinging/burning sensation and then it was ready for the fill injection. They put the needle into the port and had me sit up with the needle in. Then he started filling the band and had me take swallows of water. I thought I would feel something, but I didn't. I felt like I didn't really know what I was supposed to be feeling. When my friend had hers filled, she was already at 8 cc's so adding to that was where the fine tuning came in. For your first fill, you only get some of the fluid and it takes about 3 to 5 fills to get you just right. They were hoping to get 5 cc's in on my first visit, but he was able to get me to 7 cc's - which is a great head start for me. I still don't really feel any different, but then again, I have only been really on liquids for yesterday and purees today to give me a minute to adjust. I don't want to push it - throwing up is not something I want to experience. Once I have some solid food, I should be able to tell if it slows me down at all. For the past few weeks, it has felt like I have no band at all, so controlling my intake has been tough. My appetite is normal, so while I didn't continue with the 800 to 1000 calories, I was able to stay within a pound or two of my current weight over the holidays, and I tried to do extra activities to keep my calories burned up.

So, today is the first day of the rest of my weight loss journey!

Starting weight: 215 lbs
Current weight: 191.4 lbs
Total lost to date: 23.6 lbs

Goal weight: 115 lbs
Weight to go: 76.4 lbs

Surgery date: 11/24/2010
First fill date: 01/20/2011
First fill amt: 7 cc's
191.4 lb Lost so far: 23.6 lb.    Still to go: 66.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
