YAY! Looks like I found a "new" low this morning!! Superbowl pizza be gone!!

And it's a balmy 3.9 degrees outside!!! Well, at least it isn't below zero!!

Friday. Yes. So glad you arrived. Worked a bit at home last night and will likely this morning too, for two reasons. One, I've come home a tad early this week because of the cold temps and worries about the house. Two, I can think better here at home. It is quiet. If I have a report to write or a presentation to develop it is at times nearly impossible to do that in "cubbyland" where my desk is located. Sometimes I just want to scream ... SHUT UP!!!

Still predicted to warm up and snow. I'm hoping it does warm up. I'd really like to sleep without getting up to feed the fires. Though, trust me, it is worth it. Much better than a frigid house and frozen pipes, which by the way are still working (-:

We may be going to a memorial service tomorrow. A former colleague of my husband's died recently, from brain cancer. DH is still trying to decide if he wants to attend or not. If he does and the temps aren't too bad I will go with him for moral support.

Other than that all is well. Just another day in paradise. Another opportunity to shine. Another opportunity to be mindful, stay in the moments, be kind to myself, and continue this journey of life.

Coffee is perking, fire is burning, time to get on with work and the tasks of the day. May you each be kind to yourselves today, remember you are worth it, and take care of yourselves!

Grateful today for ...

a drop on the scale
running water
above zero temps

So sorry about your husbands friend. Very sad. Great job with the new low. I have to stand on that scale so I know where I am. I think I will do that Monday if I get a new scale by then..lol Great that you can work from home. I would find a cubby very distracting too. Have a great day Carol and keep up the good work!

Gah - your journal reminded me of my imprisonment in cubbyland back in the day - it is nuts, isn't it.. esp as the printer / fax was right outside mine and that seems to be the modern day 'we're not loafing, we're working' equivalent to the water cooler, isn't it? I loved working from home too - just had to be careful to not over do it. Friday Friday Friday ... Yaya!!

Well done on the new low. I'm a little bit green with envy as I've been up and down with 2lbs for the past couple of weeks. Amazingly we've had no snow yet this year and the temp is hovering about 4, dropping to -2 at night. I can sympathise with feeding the fire overnight. temp has not dropped low enough here. Its amazing how Friday loses its kudos when you retire. Keep going!
