JKL2012's Journal, 09 December 2013

Hello!

I will spare myself and the world of FatSecret the excuses that immediately came to mind when beginning. Being busy, stressed, and having other priorities will always be a factor in leading a healthy life, so there is no point in blaming that now. After my last entry, and while on my final elective in Winnipeg, I did very well and definitely noted the reason for slowly putting weight back on (or even plateauing) was 2-fold:

1) Calorie Creep
2) Skipping Workouts

I recorded EVERYTHING I ate and all the physical activity I did, and it was very clear that I rarely went into the red in calories on days I worked out hard (including cheat days). It was also very clear that despite eating quite clean (especially Mon-Fri) I didn't have tons of surplus calories to work with UNLESS I did a hard workout.

So, as we come upon the Christmas season, I will stay focused on a few key principles for weight management. I will not be so silly as to think I can LOSE weight at Christmas, but I just want to maintain.

GOAL: Maintain my current weight of 147.2 lbs throughout the holiday season and NOT feel like a giant butterball the whole time.

Daily Tasks:
1. 3 Camelbaks (6 cups) of water each day (not including workout drinking)
2. Workout everyday (This sounds ridiculous during the holidays, BUT if I can't get to a class or on the treadmill, I will do a quickie workout, listed below, instead)
3. Portion Control during special dinners or obvious cheat days
4. Paleo when I eat alone or with Greg at home
5. When boozing, alternate water and booze for REAL

Quickie Workout (repeat 3x)
25 Jumping Jacks
20 Squats
30 High Knees
10 Burpees
147.0 lb Lost so far: 1.0 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
gaining 0.2 lb a week
