euheide's Journal, 30 October 2013

When prompted to choose whether I swam slowly, moderately or fast, I chose "moderately" but my effort was so intense that I had to stop after 30 minutes so I have some doubts about the number of calories the website says I burned. These are probably average values. I wish I could actually measure my calories spent while swimming. Too bad heart-rate monitors don't work underwater :P

The only way to know how many calories you burned accurately is by wearing a heart monitor or one of those Body Buggs. Exercise machines and activity calculators should be used as a guideline to help you but the accuracy is can be quite a bit off.

That is too unfortunate! I guess I'm going to have to live with the incorrect number of calories the website gives me heheh. Thanks! ;)
