Rowanfair's Journal, 11 November 2010

I awoke with a terrible sinus headache. I have had a sinus headache for two months now with the sinus infection. It is a bit better, I managed to work most of this week. But today I just couldn't face getting out of bed. I think I will call the doc.

I ate the last of the pumpkin muffins for breakfast. They really are quite amazingly good. They are so much like "bread" that I kept fearing they would awake cravings but they don't seem to have. I need to try one of the crustless pumpkin pie recipes since I have leftover pumpkin. Pumpkin has always been one of my very favorite pies so it is nice that it is something I can do.

I was afraid I'd go over on food yesterday because I ate out for both breakfast and lunch but it wasn't bad. The dinner was at a new restaurant which was in the store front of a place I really liked. It was okay but not up to the standards of the now disappeared place. We saw the Karamotzov Brothers do a very funny juggling show. It was good to laugh and laugh. But it made me realize how long it had been since I felt that, um, upbeat or something. I mean, I still had a headache, but I was laughing and feeling good being with the DH and our friends.

I'm impatient for a weigh-in. Not because I've lost a lot, but because I'm doing a challenge. I weigh almost every day but only record once a week. I'm probably only down half a pound or so. But since I weighed Saturday last week I don't feel like I can do an "offical" weight before tomorrow at the earliest.

Pumpkin is DH's favorite...I need to try a no-crust one too! Think my MIL would eat it? ;)

Can't speak re the MiL but my gourmet-cooking hostess for Tday (she hasn't let me cook in years) does a pumpkin custardy thing with no crust every year. Don't think I can eat it this year but no-crust has precedent. :) Go for it.
