Okay, so I weighed in today and yes, there was a terrible gain over the weekend. There are no excuses or good reasons other than I think it was my mental 'last HORAH' before settling in to a low GI eating lifestyle. I think for the most part I have been eating on the lower end of the GI, but haven't ever paid attention to it. Starting today, that's gonna change...or at least that is my goal.
239.0 lb Lost so far: 10.0 lb.    Still to go: 90.0 lb.    Diet followed poorly.
gaining 7.9 lb a week

I am unable to buy new foods until next payday. For the most part, I have all low GI foods, to my knowledge. I think my problem is twofold. 1) Just learned about the importance of fiber (read part of my Metabolic Syndrome book this weekend). I don't get enough fiber! 2) I am not eating enough servings of fruits and veggies. I need to round out my meals. That's what I'll be working on this week.

I have to say... you have to (next time you goto Costco, I may even need to split some with you) get some of the flat out bread. It's like a long "pita" type bread. Not sure if you can cut it open, but it's got tons of fiber in it! =D Also... I have a HUGE thing of benefiber, that I could share some with you to help out? Was thinking we could put it in soups/stews etc to help up the fiber content.... or even add to drinks, etc. Yes... fiber is crucial! I learned from my ARNP last year... she wants to see about 20+ gms per day. The fs diet calendar will show the fiber intake, as I believe the plate site, does too. Also, I got a big ol pack of high fiber wraps from costco last week... love to spread a wedge of the lite laughing cow on it, add some meat, fresh spinach, balsamic, spicy mustard, feta, bacon bits... whatever I can find OH and of coarse the peppers!! I love to use the red/yellow for added fiber, too. ;) *smooches* xoxo

LOL I have the flat out bread from Costco. I got them to make warm wraps with using my GTExpress101 machine. I've used 1 package so far.

small portions of beans are great for high fiber and low GI. Maybe throw a little small portion of beans into a veggie soup. You are on the right track, Im sure of it. This will be so good for you blood sugar levels and keep you from that hungry feeling that makes us all want to "cheat" from time to time. Good luck, Im sure you will do great and your weight will start coming down, and you will feel so much better

I'm really working hard on trying to get rid of my chocolate cravings. This last week was tough as it is TOM. But, I figure it'll take a couple weeks of slowly cutting out the sugar as much as possible before my body will quit the cravings. Thankfully, we like beans at our house. I just run out of ideas with them. Thankfully, BullyT found a great website that has tons of low GI recipes, including crock pot recipes!
