Day #4 of lower carbs for me. So far, so good. My hunger is rare and quite manageable when it does appear. I can see where dropping to very few carbs could be an excellent way for me to drop right back into a Maintenance range if I stray outside it.

Even at lower carbs, it's funny how I seem to add a few extra ones, almost without thinking, like the zucchini and yellow squash that were sitting in the 'frig. I wanted to be sure I didn't let them go bad, so I cooked them up last night. They're good carbs, but if one is pushing carbs to a very low level, they probably would not be on the menu. Hard for me to imagine that gal I wrote about yesterday staying on the Meat and Egg Fast for months and months, but to each his/her own.

Today is....you guessed it.....rainy, hot and humid. UGH!!! Every night, the weather "forecasters" say "tomorrow" will be a drier day. Yeah, right. I'll believe it when I step outside and don't get wet for a full day. Doggies will not get walked; I won't go either. Stairmaster is rearing its ugly head, so I will probably do that.

EDIT: Ok, so I realize I didn't write about the gal who was on the M&EF. I DID write it, but then deleted it (reasons are not important). Anyway, she dropped 160 pounds in about 7 months, then another 20 pounds in 3 months. Finally, over about 2-3 years of Maintenance, she dropped another 20 for a grand total of 200 pounds lost. She didn't begin adding many carbs, even lower level ones, until she had lost the 160 pounds.

Yup, Day 4, LGM! The "true" M&EF is intended to go 3-5 days, depending on how much glycogen is stored in the liver. It really only took a day to get rid of the hunger. I'm coming to believe that there are a lot of problem ingredients that keep feeding hunger pangs and cravings, even in allowed foods. I've known for awhile that there are problems in most so-called low-carb products and treats, but I am now wondering about other foods, outside of meat and eggs. Have a great day.

Glad your hunger and cravings are under control. Sorry about the weather, constant rain/humidity sucks :)

Issy, believe it or not, the sun's out now. But I think those are storm clouds on the horizon, so I need to check radar and see if I need to do my grilling early. Hope your day is going well.
