Deedles13's Journal, 21 July 2013

We had our church dinner today. I ate pretty much what I wanted....a little bit of most things...so I know the scales will be up tomorrow. It only happens once every two months so I know I'm ok. And I have all week to work it off.

I wore a shirt to church today that I couldn't get into comfortably two months ago. It felt great. I can't wait til I have to go buy new clothes. :)

Dee--Have you thought about getting an outfit a size down from where you are now as motivation? I bought a pair of jeans that are a size down from where I am now (technically 2 because the size I'm in now is a little tight) and every Sunday that I weigh in I'm going to try them on until they fit--I know I'm a long ways off but it's good motivation.

I'll wait til I get down a little. I have lots of clothes (different sizes) to work my way into. Besides, I'm really cheap (lol) and hate to spend money. I'll go when I don't have anything to get into. Or I'll go buy a motivation outfit for when I go on vacation in a few months. Thanks for the idea!

I have many sizes of motivation outfits. I just need to be brave and get rid of the big ones when they don't fit anymore instead of holding on to them. I have an Oprah closet for sure...

Dee--you are speaking to the queen of cheap! Sometimes I cry when I know I have to spend money. So I COMPLETELY understand. Where is the vacay? Monica--just donate them! REALLY be like Oprah "You get a shirt, and you get a shirt, every body gets a shirt!" You can do it!

Hi Dee The important thing is that you socialized you enjoyed tasting the foods did not binge out on them and made a plan for this week.My thought better to taste than to think about a food all day. Your scale will move down Stay with your plan. Mary

Thanks, guys. I am definitely not giving up. This is only a few days compared to the rest of the year. If I give up just because of this, then I'm not really trying to lose the weight. It's just all words. I won't be like that. The scales were still up this morning. Yesterday they said 269.8. This morning they were at 269.2. But these are just numbers. They'll go down again. You're exactly right, Mary. I would have been craving all those things I said no to on Sunday for the rest of the week if I hadn't had them. So now, two days later, I still fill sluggish. I'm glad we only have the church dinners every other month. ;) MC, I don't know why I'm so cheap...lol. I just don't see why things have to cost so much. I won't pay $60 for a shirt. They should be no more than $20. And it better be a nice shirt. I see t-shirts for $20! Ridiculous. Just call me Penny Pincher...;) Hubby's parents have a time share in Williamsburg, VA and live in FL. So we meet in the middle for a week's visit. That's the only time we get to see them since we live in PA. Last year we did go down to FL on the Amtrak auto train. It was an experience. We enjoyed our visit but I'm not much on traveling. I'm definitely a homebody. Monica, I'm sure you'll get into those jeans soon!! Pics when you do! I want to get a pic done, too, but keep forgetting. I wanted to measure myself, too, but didn't. I can tell I've gotten a little smaller. Things are looser. I'm thrilled. Take care, guys, and thanks for the support! We can do this together!!

I shop clearance, too. Or just cheaper places like Kmart. I used to make my own clothes when I was a size 10...23 years ago! Patterns were easy to fit then. I was asst manager at a fabric store so I got discounts on everything. Maybe I should try it again. I love taking a few yards of fabric and making something beautiful that I can wear. I love to crochet, too. Same reason. I can take a skein of yarn and make something to keep someone warm, or just to look pretty. It' so much fun.

Anyone who can sew or craft in any way is talented. So that makes you talented, too. My Mom was very crafty and taught me to do most of the things she did. The only things she didn't do were tat and knit. I used to knit but I prefer crocheting now. Good luck on the PT.
