On Atkins site someone recommended: 70% fat, 10% carbs, 20% protein I have been eating much more protein than that, so I am focusing on a higher fat% to see if that speeds the fat loss, although I am happy with my 8 pound loss in less than a month.

Eight pounds in less than a month is great work! I've frankly not heard of that percentage breakdown. What I have heard in terms of fat/protein/carbs is 60/30/10 for Induction, 50/30/20 for OWL and 40/30/30 for Maintenance.
