Here I sit, about 4 days into the 'feeling more defeated than victorious' phase.
I don't know why, but for the last couple of weeks I have really been struggling with self discipline, motivation, and desire to eat properly and exercise to lose weight.
I think I'm going to take a short break from 'self pressure' and reread my SBD book. Then, I'm going to start on phase 1 with a new purpose and hopefully new drive.

I hear ya sweets! I think between the fair, the 9/11 anni, the moon... have ya looked outside?? And who knows what else... well, it's been a tricky past few weeks for me, too. Recharging and regenerating are great ideas! :) xoxo

I think as long as we allow the bad carbs into our diet, we are on a vicious cycle with the cravings that they cause. I had zero will power for so long but lots of desire to lose weight. Once I did phase one for two weeks, I lost the cravings. When I stray from the diet and eat bad carbs I start struggling with the cravings and feel hungry all the time. I also find that eating too many "allowed" starches does the same thing for me. I like your idea of reading the book again and starting back on phase one with a new COMMITMENT. There are always going to be tons of opportunities to tell yourself it's okay to splurge just this once. Just remember the vicious cycle it causes. Ask yourself what you want most - this bad food or to be healthy? EVERY choice you make is important. Look back at your weight chart and think about where you could be next year if you do the same thing without the "diet followed poorly" weeks in there. You can do this!
