HealthyBabs's Journal, 26 September 2010

My weight has been flat all week at 1500 cal. Will see what I weigh in the am. I have been going 4 days or so flat then drop and repeat the following week. May drop RDI to 1300-1400 to see what that does, will reeval that in the morning.

I have the same pattern...I'll hover around a particular number for several days then suddenly drop. Early on I tried to keep my calories that low but found it to be difficult, so after getting accustomed to eating better I decided to focus on the exercise to offset the calories & it has worked out wonderfully for me. I did see in your bio that you're already trying to increase the activity so that is great! I will tell you that it was hard for me initially, but once I got into the habit of doing SOMETHING, it was easier to stay motivated & also easier to do the activities. My ability to handle the exercise improved far quicker than I expected & I started out over 300 lbs. If I can do it, ANYBODY can, lol! For real! A bit part of this process is experimenting with different strategies to see what your body will respond to & clearly you are on top of that. Good luck! :D

@K- thanks for the support, I know I have to get it going on the exercise, but I absolutely hate it on a daily basis. I do like on the weekend taking huge long walks or bikerides with my hubby, but as far as doing something every day, I haven't gotten my head around it yet. I know when the weather gets colder, we will be going back to the YMCA like we did last winter. treadmill, circuit training then swimming are my favorites. I just gotta get to it!

One thing I've done is zig zag my calories up and down....although never more than my RDI allows :) My body gets fooled! Plus I do exercise some! Good luck!

@m4k- I am going to do that, just adjusted my RDI down to 1400 since scale did't move this am. I am going to get some exercise today, it is pouring outside right now (yeah we need it!) and no time this am, so will promise to do treadmmill when I get home tonight. Let's see what that does! Thanks gals for the encouragement!!
