Why do people join this website and eat stuff like DOUBLE Burgers, 4 slices of Pizza, a liter of soda a day, etc? It just seems like it would be a waste of time trying to lose weight while eating like that.

I can understand when people "fall off the wagon" but what I don't understand is why they log it. Are they just confirming they ate too much? I never need (or want!) to check the calories after eating a bunch of junk food! Lol!

I think they need to start somewhere. Sometimes people are truly unaware of how much they are consuming. So it's a good idea for them to journal their food intake just to see how much they really are eating. Example: Yesterday, I decided to go to Taco Bell for lunch, instead of eating the usual 1 taco w/o sour cream, I decided to get their new Beefy Cheese Burrito, w/o knowing what the calories were. Why did I do that?? When I got in the car, I tracked that item and found out it was 510 calories!!! I hit the roof!! So I had to quickly revamp my meal plan for the evening meal and knew I had to exercise my butt off also (10pm last night, no if ands or buts about it)!! I worked out so intensely, my muscles are BURNING!! So accountability for some needs to really start with recognizing what they are truly doing to sabotage their weight loss efforts. I always thought I didn't eat much, but once I started tracking, boy was I wrong! I'm thankful for sites like these.

Oh, Lord, it's like they DON'T want to lose weight. Fricken, I eat an order of shrimp fried rice and I feel guilty for the entire day. I can't imagine gorging like that, even in my deepest depressions.
